Symptom:
If you've been driving along for a while and you come to a
stop light and hit the brake and the pedal drops to the floor
without you slowing down at all... Downright terrifying when
you are getting closer and closer to the car ahead and you're
not stopping! You hit the brake again, and pressure starts to
build up pressure and your brakes work and you slow down. PHEW!
If this has happened, I would immediately check your brake fluid
level and brakes lines and such. If everything is okay, then
it might be your Master Brake Cylinder. They go bad after a
while. Luckily, this is an easy and cheap fix.
This is the Master Brake Cylinder, and where it is located.

Don't read unless you're board: I was reading
a chilton manual the other day, trying to figure out how to
replace an O2 sensor for a subaru for a member in the family,
and these manuals are so poorly written. I was trying to simply
FIND the o2 sensor, where those japanese buried it into this
engine, so I figured this manual would help. There was no pictures
of where it is or anything, but the first step was "Remove
the old O2 Sensor". Idiots! So yeah, excuse the rant. Tell
me where something is, before you tell me what to do with it...
1. Put pan under Master Brake
2. Remove
3. Replace & hook back up. Fill with fluid, bleed brakes.
BTW, you can do it manually, or you can use:
Mityvac Vacuum Test Kit - $64.95
You
can get it here @ Performance Products ,

Which has a brake bleeder tool on it.
