Symptom: Do you see oil leaking out of the sides of your oil
pan?
This is an easy cheap fix, that's kinda fun to do:
Suggestion: Do this at your next oil
change!
1. After there is no oil left in your system, just get a 5mm
allen wrench (hex) and start to unscrew the oil pan. I believe
there is 19 of these screws... have fun.
2. Clean it out, and scrape off all the oil gasket and silicone.
3. Get a scraper/grinder type bit on your drill and go to down
removing every spec of old oil gasket and silicone.
4. Once it's all clean, get your gasket ready, and put a thick
(but not too thick that it's flowing over and dripping down
into the tank) coating of silicone gasket sealer all over the
oil pan. Do it on both sides.
5. Put the gasket on, and put more silicone on the top of the
gasket, be generous.
6. Carefully put it back on, and hand screw each of them in
as good as you can with your hands.
7. Tighten all the screws uniformly, smooth any excess. There
shouldn't be much at all!.
8. Personally, I'd wait a few hours at least, before you put
oil back in. Wait a day,
if you can. Read the instructions on the gasket sealer I suppose.
9. Enjoy
