This is to troubleshoot weird noises, and solutions:
It's very difficult to troubleshoot noises with the W123, because
the engine rattle is so loud, it's hard to hear if anything
is wrong. However, unlike other diesels (aka american trucks)
that just get louder and louder and more obnoxious, after about
35mph or so, our diesels quiet down. A good way I've found to
troubleshoot some noises, is get up to speed, like around 45
and drive where there is a cement wall running along parallel
to the road. Make sure this isn't a highway or some busy road,
duh. This way you can unroll the windows and hear stuff, like
if your emergency brake is rubbing, or something else. This
is such a small section, of just stuff I've figure out.

Hissing in parallel with accelerator
It turned out to be this:

Wheel Bearings:
Kind of a rattling front the front wheels may be the wheel
bearings. Or it may be that you're anti-rattle clips have fallen
out.
------------
If when you turn, it sounds like en elephant is sitting on
a creeking chair, your shocks may be bad.
--------------
When you turn your steering wheel it makes a growning sound,
all while in the middle of a turn. I was for sure that my steering
pump went bad, but I just replaced the filter and added some
new steering fluid, and Viola! It was smooth steering again.
No noise.

Extreme rattle
1. You airbox maybe loose!
2. Your A/C compressor may have rattled loose.

More Coming Soon! (As soon as I figure out how
to do this)
If you can provide some
good pictures and/or how to DIY, submit!
